The East Meets West Gallery holds the exhibition Beauty: Beyond the Everyday?
It is a personal exhibition of the sculptor Vladimir Kolesnikov.
Just like most of the sculptors of this generation Vladimir Kolesnikov successfully worked on monumental custom sculpture in the 1970s -1980s. It was the time of mastering solid materials, such as wood and stone. The author started creating small forms of easel sculpture later, in the 1990s, when the public interest in works about a specific person and for a specific person grew up. This period reflects his delight with classical masterpieces of world sculptural tradition and with Art Deco works of the early 20th century.
Vladimir Kolesnikova is especially inspired by the subject of the pink and paragon of female beauty, which he unfolds in a variety of marble, stone and ceramic sculptures.
The exhibition runs till October 10.
