Punk Fraction to be Displayed in Moscow

The Triumph Gallery will hold the Punk Fraction exhibition from September 12 to October 5.

The famous photographer Igor Mukhin has combined his works of two different eras in the new project Punk Fraction 1. It has been nearly 20 years since he captured images of the Russian music underground heroes. Now their place is taken by “new punks”.

Alice Yoffe’s new project Punk Fraction 2 is inspired by punk. The idea of punk is simple and is expressed clear-cut in the DIY abbreviation – Do It Yourself. Punk needs neither interpretation nor parsing. Punk is neither trend nor style at its finest. Punk is more likely a thoughtway, a method of forthright outgiving, which makes other methods of self-expression look abstruse hypocritical game.
