An urban garden - a public space area of over 8,000 square meters open to visitors of the museum – will be created around the manor house of Vyazemsky-Dolgorukyin the centre of Moscow, as the RIA “Novosti” cites the press service of Moscow Committee for Architecture.
“The works on the creation of the museum town are carried out within the framework of implementation of the Resolution of the Russian Government No. 1138 as of December 9, 2013 “On implementation of the budget investments in design, complex reconstruction, restoration, technical upgrading and new construction of the property complex of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin” - the press release notes. It also states that after the completion of its construction the manor house of Vyazemsky-Dolgoruky will host the Art Gallery of Old Masters with the area of over 6,000 square meters.
In addition, the manor will host restoration workshops, storage facilities and a leisure centre. The completion of the works is scheduled for 2018.
