Diana Arbenina has reported about the concerts of her band Nochniye Snaiperi (Night Snipers) cancelled in eight cities.
She told about it in a video message posted on YouTube.
The concerts scheduled for September 20 in Tver, September 22 in Kursk, September 23 in Belgorod, September 24 in Oryol, September 30 in Volgograd, October 5 in Kazan, October 16 in Kostroma, and November 6 in Nizhny Novgorod have been cancelled. The musician pointed out that the local concert hosts found some reasons to explain this decision away, such as a leaking roof or repair works in the club, or some urgent city needs for this particular venue on the concert day. The singer does not believe in all these arguments. Diana Arbenina expressed her hope that she would be relieved of the burden of “that political nonsense”, which is imposed on her and she will regain her freedom of giving concerts.
Fortunately, the band’s concerts in Voronezh, Samara, Ivanovo and Vladimir could be asserted.
Diana Arbenina's poetic evening at the Bookmarket Festival in Moscow was cancelled on September 5. Her concert in Vladimir was shifted to another venue after some local activists had accused her of supporting Kiev authorities and petitioned for canceling her performance. On July 3 Arbenina gave a concert in Kiev. Afterwards she started complaining of persecution, and on September 5 announced in Facebook that she was banned from singing practically all around Russia.
