Trailer of the TV Series Catherine the Great

The Mars Media film company has released the trailer of the new series Catherine the Great to be shown on Channel One in 2015.

      The start season of the historical drama will consist of 12 episodes. Its film director is Igor Zaitsev.

      The story in the first season of Catherine the Great unfolds in the period from 1744 to 1762. “It is the story of the autocratrix’ socialization from the moment of her arrival to Russia as the bride of Peter III and till her ascension to the Russian throne.

      Sergey Yudakov and Alexey Gravitsky used archive documents, memories and diaries, including those of the empress in their work on the film script.

      The film stars Yulia Snigir as Catherine II, Pavel Derevyanko as Peter III, Natalya Surkova as Elizabeth Petrovna and Sergey Shakurov as Count Alexey Bestuzhev.
