The Ministry of Health of Russia plans to check schools and universities for the early detection of the use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs, as the “Izvestia” newspaper writes with a reference to the agency.

The tests will be conducted on a voluntary basis for the students after the age of 13. In case of a positive analysis for drugs the students are to be sent to a specialized medical organization rendering the services of drug treatment for determining the diagnosis. It is noted that all the results of the tests will be kept confidential.

The tests will be conducted among the students who reached the age of 13, with a voluntary written consent of their parents or legal representatives. At the same time the students after the age of 15 will be able to themselves choose if they want to take the test or not.
