Retrospective Exhibition of Yury Sobolev to Run in Moscow

The Moscow Museum of Modern Art in Yermolayevsky Lane opens an exhibition of Yury Sobolev.

      The exhibition under the title The Islands encompasses Yury Sobolev’s graphic art from the late 1950s till 2002, book and journal design, slide films from 1975 to 1989, video records of his students’ stage productions and performances, as well as photos from archives.

      Yury Sobolev cooperated with the film director Andrey Khrzhanovsky, in particular, drew the animated films Glass Harmonica and Butterfly. In the last years of his life Yury Sobolev organized the Interstudio modern art school, which became a remarkable event on the Russian art stage.

      The exhibition runs from September 17 till November 9.
