A branch of the search and rescue team with horse unit will appear in Gorno-Altaisk.

A horsed lifeguard can climb almost any mountain, they have much better mobility than a pedestrian or a car; the search process is performed faster. Such a cavalry unit successfully operates for several years in Sochi. The decision to create the horse rescue units in Altai was taken by the head of the Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) Vladimir Puchkov, the correspondent of Travel.ru reports. He also urged the tourists to be responsible when climbing up in the mountains. The minister recalled that routes should be previously agreed upon, but the rescuers, in turn, can accompany travelers in high risk areas.

EMERCOM staffs from different regions of Russia constantly remind visitors about these security requirements. Simultaneously with the registration of the route, the rescuers will provide all necessary and accurate information about potential dangers; share information about hydro and weather conditions; advise on the safe passage of all stages of the track; explain the rules for personal and group security; help to verify the personal equipment, communications equipment, alarm systems, food and medicine.
