The 3rd all-Russian "Fanfares of Kazan" festival of brass bands was held as a part of the Year of Culture on the territory of Kazan Kremlin museum-reserve.
The festival was set on the Kremlin territory for the first time and featured 10 musical bands from Kazan, Cheboksary, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg. The Republic's capital was represented by orchestra of the Cultural Center of the MIA of the Republic of Tatarstan directed by honored worker of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Kadyrov; the military brass band of Kazan Higher Military Command School; "Fantasia" city women's jazz orchestra; the orchestra and ensemble of cadet drummers of children's music school ¹13.
Other orchestras represented the staffs of the regional headquarters of interior troops and MIA military units. Besides military orchestra, the capital of neighboring Chuvashia sent a civilian band to Kazan as well. At the very beginning of the event musicians marched to the Gun Court, playing compositions well-known to many people and then a concert was held there featuring large joint orchestra of all 10 bands.
After that there was a brief opening ceremony and musicians went to their sites where each of the ensembles gave individual concert.
