Galina Konovalova, the oldest actress of the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow has died at the age of 98.
The actress died at home after a disease.
Galina Konovalova took the stage at the Vakhtangov Theatre right after graduation from the Shchukin School in 1938. The actress played more than 50 roles altogether and was in demand till the end of her life. In recent years she was involved in all the famous stage productions by Rimas Tuminas.
Galina Konovalova combined her work as an actress with the post of the troupe manager for over 30 years. In addition to that the actress wrote books, performed on radio and used to say that she could not find time to grow old.
