Russia Will Have Eleven Remote Earth Sensing Satellites

Russia will have the orbital group of eleven remote Earth sensing satellites for various purposes at its disposal in 2015, the Deputy General Designer of “Russian Space Systems” JSC (RSS) Victor Selin stated at the opening of the IV International School on Satellite Navigation.

“Today the group consists of six spacecrafts for remote Earth sensing (RES). These are geostationary spacecrafts and low-flying ones like “Meteor”, as well as high-resolution satellites such as “Resurs-P”. By the end of the year we will have eight satellites, and in next year we’ll have eleven of them. These are not just words, this is the real state of things. New spacecraft are already on the rigs, so a significant increase of the Russian group of remote sensing satellites should be expected”- he said.
