Archeology Museum (a branch of the regional local history museum) will soon be provided with a building in the center of Rostov-on-Don. Another new museum - the Ecology History Museum - will appear in Volgodonsk town of the Rostov region in December 2014. Construction of the Sambek Heights memorial estate will be started in 2015, time to the 70th anniversary of the Victory Day.
It should be noted that very remarkable and unusual artifacts were found in the Rostov Region.
Thus, a ceramic full-sphere used by alchemists in the 1st century AD was found in the city of Azov. The 16 cm full-sphere is the biggest one in the history of Eastern Europe. Other rare finds include a metallurgical brick horn (the 1st century BC), a medieval jeweler workshop with a whole set of rejected rings, a hut with a heated stove bench and a windmill with a mill tower and millstones kept intact (both finds dated to the 14th century). All these rarities will make part of the collection of the Azov museum, which is already the most popular museum in the Rostov Region.
