A major renovation was carried out last summer on Gogol Street (from Voznesenskaya to Sovetskaya str.) in Volgograd, and the second part of Gogol Boulevard was opened last weekend.

      According to the Direction of Public Relations and Information Department of the Head of the Republic, during the construction of the second phase of Gogol Boulevard special architectural solutions were re-implemented there. So, the pedestrian area was decorated with stylish lights, wrought iron benches and cubed track. Later, there will be installed flowerpots. Some facilities were created for drivers as well: the roadway was extended; the traffic flow does not intersect. The length of the new boulevard is just over 150 meters and the total length of Gogol Boulevard so far is about 400 meters. Local authorities plan to extend the new recreation area to the Volkov Street up to the Lenin Square and the main building of the Volga State Technological University.
