9 meter monument to Atom Conquerors has been set up in the Kalinin District of Novosibirsk.

      The monument is made of two granite plates that are clamping a copper atom between them.

      The Atom Conquerors monument is dedicated to the history of development of the nuclear industry, creation of the nuclear shield and the Siberians’ contribution into rectification of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.

      The architect Maxim Salakhov is the author of the monument.

      The monument was initiated by staff of the nuclear industry enterprises, veteran and trade-union organizations, liquidators of Chernobyl catastrophe and the Fund for Support of Radiation Disasters Victims.
