Stolen Gravestone Monuments Sold to Junk Yard

Police of the Rasskazov District of the Tambov Region got two complains about monuments stolen from a local cemetery.

In a few days the police found and arrested the malefactor. It was a 17-year-old guy. He confessed the fact. The young man just wanted to make a fast buck. He instigated an acquaintance of his to take away ferrous metal from the cemetery by car. Thus they took away and junked six gravestone monuments to a scrap metal yard: 4 monuments from Akhtyrka Village and 2 monuments from Arzhenka Village.

The stolen monuments were returned. Initiation of legal proceedings under the article Desecration of Graves is being considered now.
