Unexploded Bomb Found in Arkhangelsk Region

A suspicious object similar to an air bomb was found in the former tank training area in the Primorsky District of the Arkhangelsk Region.

Specialists of the Civil Defense Centre came to the site at once. It really turned out to be an air bomb made in the 1950s. The ammunition weight made 250 kilograms.

The bomb is partially damaged, with traces of hunting carbines and guns left on it. Most likely, some hunters wanted to have fun and polish up their shooting skills on an explosive object.

It was by mere chance that the bomb did not explode. Unreasonable shooters were just very lucky. If their shots had touched the explosive, the blasting radius would have covered 700 meters at least.

As the press service of the RF Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Arkhangelsk Region reports, the experts withdrew and destroyed the bomb.
