Cover is Book Face Exhibition

The Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val has opened the exhibition Book Cover is its Face.

The exposition includes book and journal covers created from 1917 till the late 1930s. It was a bright and stylistically diversiform period, when some artists developed innovative techniques, devices and forms, while others carefully kept the best traditions of book design.

The visitors will see the main types of book cover design: font, ornamental, and subject ones. The exhibits demonstrate sequential change of tastes and interests of artists, writers, and publishers.

The exhibition will be held from October 10, 2014 till January 11, 2015.
