Case on Damage of Historical Building Opened in St. Petersburg

Petersburg police has opened a criminal case against serious damages incurred on a cultural heritage site.

      The so-called Stakenshneider’s House has been damaged in the course of construction works at the address 10, Millionnaya Street and badly needs restoration.

      Police officers found out that the builder company badly marred the historical interior of the architecture monument. Moreover the works carried out from January 21 to September 18, 2014 were unauthorized and violated the protective regulations.

      The criminal case has been brought under Article 243 (Destruction or Damage of Cultural Heritage) providing the penalty of up to five million rubles or imprisonment for up to six years.
