Demolition of Khokhryakovs Art Studio Left Unpunished

Old studio of the famous artist Nikolay Khokhryakov (1857-1928) has been demolished in Kirov.

The house located at the address of 125, Volodarsky Street was of great cultural value.

To oppose the threat of renewed construction works at the site the All-Russia People’s Front will address repeated complaints to police authorities and the RF Prosecutor General's Office. They demand restoration of the rule of law and punishment of those who ruined the cultural heritage site.

The studio could be rescued provided the authorities had helped the museum to restore it, the cochairman of the regional branch of the separation of All-Russia People’s Front Nadezhda Guryanova states.

According to some sources an elite mansion is expected to be built on the place of the old house.
