Transaero Stops Its Flights From Sheremetyevo

“Sheremetyevo” Airport and “Transaero” Airline Company reported about the suspension of cooperation since the autumn-winter season 2014/15. The flights of the carrier from here will be resumed only after the reconstruction of the northern terminal complex scheduled for 2017.

Besides, it is important to note that the departure of “Transaero” from Sheremetyevo is not connected with the repair works, as the airline company conducted flights from the southern zone of the terminal F. The Director General of “Transaero” Olga Pleshakova in her interview with “Vedomosti” explained that the suspension of cooperation with the airport was connected with the cost reduction program of the airline company.

The majority of routes from Sheremetyevo are for tourists, and the infrastructure of the southern area of the airport has limitations hindering the organization of a “hub” transportation system which is in demand among tour operators.
