Exhibition of Aircraft Designer Igor Sikorsky

Polytechnic Museum holds an exhibition timed to the 125th anniversary since the birth of the aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky.

      
The exhibition Sikorsky: Wings of the Future tells about the outstanding aircraft designer, inventor, engineer and dreamer.

      
Igor Sikorsky was one of the youngest aircraft designers in the world. He made the first attempts to create the copter (predecessor of the helicopter), but none of the working models could take off the engineer delved into enhancement of constructions and airplanes. 

      
The museum displays several models of his inventions, which are true technical miracles of the early 20th century: prototypes of the first experimental copter of 1909, fighter S-16 and so on. 

      
The exhibition runs till January 15, 2015.
