An open-air Archaeology Museum will be founded by the walls of the Zaraysk Kremlin near Moscow.
The idea was initiated by Sergey Lev, the research associate of the Stone Age Archeology Department of the Archeology Institute, RAS.
According to him, the authorities have already been informed about the initiative, however the final decision on confirming the project has not been taken yet:
"The museum concept has already been developed and is being considered by the authorities. We are waiting for the decision to start implementing it. A flat or a hangar-like overlapping has to be constructed over the archeology monuments, so that the people will be able to observe the occupation layer, which existed in the era of mammoths 20 thousand years ago. It looks like a very interesting and worthy project”.
Sergey Lev emphasizes that the museum can be opened at any time: all the discovered sites and dugouts of the early people have been saved and preserved.
