Kuban Dweller Got Medal for Rescuing Child 12 Years Later

12 years ago Fedor Amvrosov from Belorechensk of the Krasnodar Territory saved life of a 7-year-old boy drowning in a lake.

Back then Fedor Amvrosov got only a certificate of merit as official gratitude. The hero hanged it on the wall at home. It was his girl friend who got interested in the award. Having considered it unfair that the heroic act remained without benefit of salvage, she wrote a letter to the Russian president.

“At the request from Moscow the administration of Belorechensk collected all necessary documents and I got a medal 12 years later. It is called For Life Saving. I rescued a person for the first time. If I face a similar situation I will do the same” - Fedor Amvrosov concluded.

The rescued boy has already turned 19 years old; Fedor was of that age when he saved the boy’s life.
