Ostankino Sculpture in Tsaritsyno Opera House Now

The Tsaritsyno memorial estate presents the exhibition Palace in the Palace. Ostankino Sculpture in the Tsaritsyno Opera House.

The exhibition of sculpture masterpieces from the Ostankino Palace is an attempt to implement two dreams that could not be made true in the 18th century into one project.

The Middle Palace in Tsaritsyno was not destined to become one of the three palaces built by V. Bazhenov for Catherine II: all the works were stopped in 1784. Now the Middle Palace will be opened to public just the way it looked in the late 18th century.

126 objects of art brought to Tsaritsyno include several original antiques, copies of antique sculptures made by French and Italian sculptors in the 18th century, and works by the masters of the 19th century.

The sculptures will be exhibited in Tsaritsyno during the entire period of restoration works in the Ostankino memorial estate.

The exhibition runs from November 13 till December 14.
