The Federal State Archives Exhibition Hall holds a historical and documentary exhibition on Nikita Khrushchev.
The exhibition prepared by the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History is timed to the 120th anniversary since his birthday.
It is the second exhibition from the Federal Archival Agency’s new project titled Leaders of the Soviet Era.
The exhibition tells about Khrushchev's activities during his tenure as the head of Moscow in the 1930s, Ukraine in 1938-1941 and 1944-1949, and his part in the Great Patriotic War.
Documents related to the state decisions taken in the “Khruschev's period” and aiming at advance in the living standards of the Soviet people, such as bringing new grounds under cultivation, mass civil engineering, development of food industry, etc. take an important place in the exposition.
Great attention is paid to the documentary story about the Soviet authorities’ struggle for peace and international security, especially in the periods of extreme tension in international relations, namely the Hungarian, Berlin and Cuban crises.
The exhibition runs at the address 17, Bolshaya Pirogovskaya Street, Moscow till January 25.
