Shchusev Architecture Museum presents the exhibition Smithy of Big Architecture. Soviet Competitions of the 1920s-1950s.
Even prior to grand Moscow housing development of the 1930s-1950s it was thanks to the competitions that architectural projects became the focus of special attention of the entire country.
Curators have selected seven landmark Moscow buildings the construction of which was preceded with large-scale architectural competitions.
The exhibition project aims at detecting the role of competitions in development of architectural styles and changing Moscow urbanscapes.
The exhibition will be held till February 15, 2015.
