Woman with Child Saved from Fire by a Young Man

The fire occurred in a residential building in the January 9 Street of Millerovo town in the Rostov Region on November 25.

The fire was spotted by Vladimir Bortnikov staying nearby. When the young man came close to the building he noticed that fire ran through the first mansard floor, the roof and some areas of the ground floor.

Vladimir saw a woman with a girl at the window of the ground floor. The young man rushed to save them immediately. The house corridor was on fire and so Vladimir broke the window glass and took the people out of the building. In the process he cut his hand.

On that very moment a gas cylinder exploded. As the woman said, her two sons, 14 and 18 years of age, were on the first floor, which was totally involved in fire. Nobody could be saved from there.

According to experts, it was troubled furnace heating that caused the fire.
