The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow was ready to cooperate with Washington.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that, unlike the United States, Moscow was ready to cooperate with Washington, “in terms not of benefits, but of common interests”. He said this, speaking at the “government hour” in the State Duma on Wednesday, November 19, as RIA Novosti reported. “That’s the whole sense of our foreign policy: we are willing to cooperate with our partners not on some arbitrary principle, but in the field where our fundamental interests are the same: the same fight against terrorism, “Islamic state” and other groups terrorizing the entire region” - he said. According to the Foreign Minister, to “it is undignified for a great power to have a consumer approach to its partners”. “Please keep on helping me where I need you, and where I want to punish you, you should obey” - Lavrov stressed. The Minister noted that for the time being the West is doing everything to stop cooperation in the sphere of exchanging data on armed forces. According to him, Russia also does not intend to provide such information to its Western partners unilaterally.
