Remains of Woolly Rhinoceros Found in Bashkiria

Local dweller has found bones of the woolly rhinoceros in the Karmaskalin District of Bashkiria.

While digging a well the man came across an ancient animal carcass. He showed the find to paleontologists. Scientists have assumed with great probability that these are skeletal remains of the woolly rhinoceros.

By the way, these ancient animals really inhabited the lands of Bashkiria about 10 to 12 thousand years ago. Thus, their remains were unearthed in the Haybullin District. The Ufa Ethnography Museum keeps rhinoceros skeleton and separate bones.
