Priest Rescued Pensioner in the Samara Region

A mischance nearly caused death on the Us River near Syzran in the Samara Region nearly caused death of a resident of the Mezhdurechensk.

When coming back home a fisherman left a group of his companions to cut his way short. At the distance of about 150 meters from the river bank the man got on thin ice washed away with springs. The ice crashed under his feet and the man fell into water. His friends had already reached the riverbank by that time and were afraid to step on the breaking ice.

The only person that was up to the task was the priest Nikolay from the Pechyorskoye Village. He was also on the way home after fishing. Without a second thought the priest rushed to help the sinking pensioner. After spending about ten minutes in water, the man was dragged on strong ice with the help of a rope.
