13-year-old Sergey Smorchkov has saved two people from drowning in icy water in the Pitelino District.
The Svyatoye Lake near Luchino Village of the Pitelino District was not safely covered with fast ice yet; however, the fact did not stop fans of winter fishing.
The seventh-grader Sergey Smorchkov happened to be near the lake, when one of the fishermen away from the coast fell into water. Another fisherman was trying hard to pull the drowning person out of water to no avail, when Sergey drew up and hold out an ice drill to him. However, the man’s grasp got weak in frost and the drill sank down.
Then the school student rushed off to the coast again and got a rope. When he got back, both the fishermen were in water: the second fisherman had fallen too while trying to extend his jacket to the drowning one. Sergey promptly pulled the men out on the ice with the help of the rope. As a result nobody suffered or even caught cold.
