Fabio Capello is surprised the Russian Football Union has not briefed him on the deadline when his salary is going to be paid.
In an interview with TASS, he complained there’s no other coach in the world that had not been paid for six months.
Earlier, Russia-IC reported that sports officials will pay off its debt to national team manager Fabio Capello despite a dismal start in the Euro 2016 qualification stage.
Deputy Sports Minister told the press that Capello will get the money by the year's end but didn't specify whether Capello will stay as the chief coach.
The pay delay has continued for 5 months now, and rumours are ripe that the Italian coach could leave his post soon.
Fabio Capello, who’s been working with the national team since July 26, 2012, is set to stay with Russia until the 2018 World Cup that the country will host. The national team manager has extended his contract with the Russian Football Union even before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Earlier, Russia-IC reported that the head of the Russian Football Union, Nikolay Tolstykh, wanted to get the deal closed as soon as possible. Many commentators have challenged the move over Russia’s lackluster performance at the championship.
Fabio Capello has now put together a new team ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifiers. The vast majority of pundits blamed him for dropping rising star Artiom Dzyuba, who finished the previous season as the top scorer of the Russian Premier League. Capello has lamented many times that good Russian forwards are few and far between but didn’t pick the Spartak player on his lineup.
This time Dzyuba cannot be ignored. The aggressive forward scored 4 goals in three games for Spartak.
