The main Christmas tree of the republic of Chechnya with the height of 50 meters, weighing more than 94 tons, was installed in the park near the “Grozny City” complex of the Chechen capital. The Mayor’s Office of Grozny reported that the Christmas tree would the highest and the heaviest in the country.

      According to the representative of the city administration, the assembly of the construction has been carried out around the clock for 12 days. The Christmas tree is protected by the guards from law enforcement agencies working around the clock. The Ministry of Culture of Chechnya reported that the celebrations near the Christmas tree would be held from December 25 to January 10.

      It is planned to hold thematic presentations, attractions, performances of creative groups and other recreational activities. On the night of New year the area surrounding the main tree of the republic will host a gala concert with the participation of Russian and foreign stars, as well as colorful fireworks.
