Snow Town Will Appear In Gorno-Altaisk

The experts began to build a snow town on the central square of Gorno-Altaisk. They have already established wooden slides and started to construct the main New Year’s tree of the republican capital.

      A metal base with attached natural spruce branches have been installed here instead of a live spruce for 10 years in a row. It is important that these branches are a byproduct of forest harvesting, that’s why the installation of the main symbol of the New Year doesn’t damage the environment. The spruce is 21 meters high and 10 meters in diameter; it is going to be decorated with colorful garlands, tinsel, toys and huge balls, just like in previous years, according to the Mayor’s Office. It is assumed that an ice base with a bright lightning will be constructed at the bottom of the spruce. The main spruce of Gorno-Altaisk will be fully installed by December, 25. It is planned to install another 12 New Year’s trees in the microdistricts of the city.
