New Ski Trail At Elbrus Resort

The ski trail “Azau-Mir” was opened at the “Elbrus” resort. According to the press service of “Elbrus Resort” OJSC, its average width now reaches 80 to 200 meters, its total length amounts to about 8000 m with 1105 m of difference in altitude.

      The trail is equipped with artificial snowmaking systems and means of passive safety. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Resorts of Kabardino-Balkaria, special attention has been paid namely to the safety of skiers during the preparation for this season. Thus, two lines of cable way on the slope of Elbrus are equipped with speakerphones and surveillance cameras on solar batteries, the information on safety, rules of stay and use of the ski trails is presented on banners, stands and tablets. In addition, the Elbrus mountain search and rescue squad of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia is located in the village of Terskol, and the rescue units of cable ways and first-aid posts are situated on the meadows of Cheget and Azau. The costs of services on the cable ways of the “Elbrus” resort in the winter season will start from 1300 roubles per day of skiing.
