E&Y: Basle capital accord will reduce the risks of Russian banks

The banks meeting the requirements of the Basle capital accord-II will be able to limit their exposure to serious losses. Such opinion was aired by Mr. Ilya Kuntsev, a manager of Ernst & Young.
       These banks will get such advantages as the ability to maintain the trigger ratio, to optimize activity management, planning, budgeting, pricing and investment decisions, -said he.
       The expert stressed that detailed studies of Russian banking sector were necessary for assessing the readiness of the banks to meet the requirements of the Basle capital accord-II.
