Reparations Of Aurora

The works on the indoors spaces carried out by experts began on the “Aurora” cruiser which left the dock after the body repair in November. The dock repair of “Aurora” is completed now: the experts have made a complete defect identification of the bottom-outboard part, painted the boards and will now be engaged in the repair of indoor spaces” - the Director of the Central Naval Museum Ruslan Nekhay said. According to him, “Aurora” which left the dock on November 24 is currently moored at the wall of the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral.

The cruiser’s return to its historic parking site should take place until the summer of 2016. “We expect that “ Aurora” will return to the wall of Petrogradskaya quay no later than in the spring of 2016, because “Aurora” celebrates its 60th anniversary on July 15, 2016, and, of course, it should celebrate the anniversary in its usual place” – Nekhay stressed. He added that the members of the special committee regularly visit the cruiser and monitor the progress of works.
