2015 was announced the Year of Udmurtia in Moscow. It is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky who was born on the Udmurt land in Votkinsk.

      The head of Udmurtia Aleksandr Vasilyevich Solovyov believes that the 175th anniversary of birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is too big an event to limit its celebration by only one region. The most significant event will be the annual Tchaikovsky International Music Festival, Udmurtia is preparing to meet a large number of visitors from Russia and other countries of the world. Some of commemorative events will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Klin and other Russian cities.
