$1 Million Worth Stolen Icon Found in Moscow

The RF criminal investigation department has found the 16th century Icon of Christ Not Made by Hand, which is $1 million worth.

As the press center of the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs, this icon was stolen from the Trinity Church in the Orichev District of the Kirov Region in September, 2013. A criminal case was brought under the article “plunder of especially valuable objects which are of special value”.

In the course of special investigation activities the icon was found in one of the former restoration workshops of Moscow.
