Vorobyovy Hills Viewing Platform Opens After Reconstruction

The viewing platform on the Vorobyovy Hills will open after its full repair on December 18. This is one of the most significant places both for the residents of the capital and its guests.

As the web-portal of the Government of Moscow reported, the repair was carried out within the framework of improvement of the “Vorobyovy Hills” Natural Reserve, which was annexed to the territory of Gorky Park and Neskuchny Garden in November, 2013. The total area of the improved territory made up 0.5 hectares. The main objective of the project was to return the park its identity, develop a comfortable and constructive design, taking the instability of the slope into account. According to the concept developed by the Dutch OKRA company, the interactive map of Moscow in a granite paving with a LED backlight appeared on the viewing platform. It shows, in particular, the Kremlin, the seven hills, Yauza and Moskva Rivers. The historical balustrade is highlighted by a special illumination.
