Moscow Court has passed a judgment of a group of raiders who attempted to take over a historical building in 2012.
The mansion located in the center of Moscow is in state property and costs more than 200 million rubles, The Kommersant points out.
The fraud organizer Mikhail Zvyagintsev, CEO of the Ostankino TV Centre JSC, which is part of the same-name television center, got four years of a standard regime penal colony, whereas his three accomplices got three years each.
The trial over Mikhail Zvyagintsev, Sergey Durnov (former CEO of Service Electron Polygraph JSC), Sergey Vasilyev (CEO of the Petersburg Tekhinvest JSC) and the businessman Grigory Grafov lasted for almost a year. As appears from the sentence, all the four were found guilty of the attempt to plunder the historical building at the address 1/15, Yauzskaya Street, which is part of the former Goncharov-Filippovs’ Estate of the 18th century.
None of the defendants admitted guilt. The defendants’s lawyers intend to challenge the sentence in the Moscow City Court.
