Kapitel JSC was fined 250 thousand rubles by the Zamoskvorechie District Court of Moscow for demolishing the Kireevsky Chambers.
The historical building in Ostozhenka Street in the heart of Moscow was the heritage of the 17th century.
Earlier the court imposed a penalty of 200 thousand rubles on the user of the historical building - Zachatyevsky Convent – for the above mentioned illegal works.
In July, 2014 the Archnadzor social movement reported that Kireevsky Chambers (19/2, Ostozhenka Street), the history and architecture monument of the 17th century, had been secretly taken down to the basement.
The city defenders are dissatisfied with the assigned amount of penalty and are afraid that the customer and the contractor will go on the works on the object. They urge the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow to recommence initiating criminal prosecution for destroying the architecture monument.
