Legendary Soviet Announcer Yury Levitan to be Main Character of TV Series

A biopic series about the TV announcer Yury Levitan will be produced from the end of February, 2015.

      The leading role will be played by the popular actor Konstantin Khabensky.

      The series under the name This is Moscow Speaking! will consist of eight episodes. Final casting of actors for other roles is under way. The place of film shooting is selected between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

      The scriptwriters are Sergey Yudakov and Alexey Gravitsky. The Georgian film director Aleko Tsabadze will work on the film. The series will be available for TV viewers at the end of 2015.

      It is a reminder that a monument to Yuri Levitan will be set up for the 100th anniversary since his birthday in his home town of Vladimir. Crowdfunding project was launched on to finance the monument. 72 thousand rubles more are yet to be raised in the last seven days of the project publication.
