Hiroshima and Nagasaki Case

The Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin proposes to discuss the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 with international law experts. According to TASS, this was stated by him at the meeting of the Council of the Russian Historical Society.

The Duma speaker recalled that in 2015 70 years will have passed since the Nuremberg trial, as well as 70 years since bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Naryshkin noted that it was no accident that he put these events on a par. “It seems to me, we need to discuss this topic with the lawyers specializing in the field of international law, as far as crimes against humanity have no period of prescription” - he said.
