A quarantine was introduced in the city district of Khoroshevo-Mnevniki in the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow, due to the sickness case of pet rabies detected on December 17.
As a source in the Mayor’s Office told to “Interfax”, the decree was signed by the city Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The details of the circumstances of the incident are not disclosed. The quarantine is introduced until February 18, 2015. For this period the following things will be prohibited: exhibitions of dogs and cats, pet trade, trapping of wild animals, as well as export of dogs and cats out of the territory. A rabies quarantine was also introduced on the territory of the settlement of Marushkinskoe located in Novomoskovsky Administartive District of the capital in mid-December for the period until February 6.
