Leviathan directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev has won The Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
In addition to that, it has also been recognized the best foreign language film at the 26th Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The other day it became known that the new film by the renowned Russian film director Andrey Zvyagintsev was nominated for the prestigious BAFTA.
A winner of the Cannes Film Festival, Leviathan has already received several awards at European film festivals, in particular the Grand Prix of the 58th London Film Festival, the Grand Prix at the Munich Festival and the first prize at the Palich Film Festival, Serbia.
Moreover, Leviathan has been nominated for the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film Category. It still remains unknown what films it will compete with: the final list of foreign movies nominated in this category will be announced in the USA in January.
