Communists of Angara Region claim the initiative of bringing down Lenin monument to be another anti-Soviet provocation.

      Initiators of the monument demolition plan to reconstruct a Lutheran church on its place. Earlier there was a petition to the city authorities posted online: it suggested reconstructing the Lutheran church in its historical place, right were the Lenin monument is.

      Irkutsk communists promote an alternative of locating the Lutheran church in any of the suburban districts that lack beautiful buildings, provided that its potential parishioners will finance the church reconstruction. They find it more reasonable to leave the place in the centre for parks and public gardens.
