Leviathan Copyright Holders to Not Go After Pirates

Authors of the prize-winning Leviathan with its pirate copy now available on the web will not pursue those downloading the film.

This was reported by the film producer Alexander Rodnyansky. “All the films nominated for Oscar have been piratically downloaded. We are not going to pursue anybody. We try to close the piracy sites, but we are glad when people debate about the film. We have seen positive public reaction, though we were afraid that the film could polarize our Russian society”, – he pointed out.

It is a reminder that Leviathan has won The Golden Globe Award for the Best Foreign Language Film. Besides, it has been nominated for Oscar. The internationally acclaimed Leviathan will go on general release in Russia in February.
