The launches of “Proton” from the Baikonur cosmodrome can stop by 2025.
The launches of Russian carrier rockets “Proton” from the Baikonur cosmodrome may stop in 2025, according to “Interfax”. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan (Kazkosmos) Erkin Shaimagambetov.
“We have elaborated joint recommendations on reduction of volume of launches of carrier rockets “Proton-M” from the Baikonur cosmodrome through a staged transfer of spacecraft launches carried out from the Baikonur cosmodrome by the mentioned carrier rocket to the space rocket complexes created on the territory of the Russian Federation. Thus, the completion of transfer of launches “Proton-M” rockets is scheduled for 2025” – Shaimagambetov said.
