Cat Saved Baby by Warming it for Hours

A two-month baby was dumped off in an entrance hall of an apartment house in Obninsk town of the Kaluga Region

The baby was put in a box with a bottle of infant formula, a pacifier and diapers. The baby was dressed in winter clothes.

The kid was first found by a local cat, which warmed it with its own body for a few hours. Then the cat started calling its owner with loud mews. The cat’s owner Nadezhda Makhovikova saw a touching picture: her cat and the baby lying side by side in one box. She immediately called doctors and police. The physicians who arrived at the scene diagnosed that the baby was healthy and safe.

The foundling was sent to one of the town hospitals right away. Police officers investigate who the parents are and what became the reason for dumping it off.
